Cross Timbers
Gordonville
Type: Single Track Out & Back
Difficulty: Advanced
Distance: 24 Miles
Hours : All
Details
The trail between Juniper Point (East trail head) and Cedar Bayou travels high above the lake on the rocky ledges that make up the shoreline. This short section of trail is very technical and should only be attempted by experienced riders who are aware of the "penalty for failure." Be sure and pack in plenty of water for the trip as there in none available in route, nor are there any bail out points along the trail. While the 6 mile total length may not seem that long the elevation changes of the trail are high and a fatigue factor of this trail is quite high. Be prepared for some ravenous descents into eroded gullies and plenty of rocks and roots to test your skills. -

The trail does have some dips. The last section of trail is called the expert section. -

Rowlett Creek Preserve
Garland
Type: Single Track - Multi Loops

Distance: 16 Miles
Hours : 6am - Midnight
Details
The trail is currently comprised of 14 connected loops; those numbered 1, and 7 through 14 are north of the parking lot and those numbered 2 through 6 are on the south side. These loops are numbered in the manner in which they were built so for those first time riders, the layout may not seem to be intuitive thus it’s a good idea to either follow someone that knows the trail system or bring along a copy of the trail map. The direction of travel for all loops is CLOCKWISE. About half of the trail mileage is in the trees with some areas that are tight and twisty. The rest is out in open with some fast, straight field sections.
